Systems has an opening for a Sr. Staff Electronics Engineer to join
our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Melbourne, FL or
San Diego, CA sites. This role will serve as the definitive
technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program
elements (systems engineering/hardware/software/support/test) and
leads a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical
performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements
including subcontracted elements. The successful candidate should
possess some familiarization of SMS/S&RE-related hardware and
software requirements and in the definition, design, integration,
test, and certification (end-to-end development) and operation of
SMS and S&RE. The successful candidate some experience
preparing detailed requirements specifications, statements of work,
test plans and procedures, certification plans and procedures,
performance reports, etc., related to these governing standards.
The Electronic Engineer will be responsible for: Providing
oversight for requirements development, hardware/software design,
verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program
is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development,
production, test, and sustainment of products for our customers and
follows compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality
standards. Ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering
practices. Ensures the execution of program statement of work.
Regularly takes a leadership role in providing insight and
knowledge transfer to others on internal and external technical
solutions to solve complex problems. Demonstrated ability to
formally present technical solutions to senior leadership. Be the
technical liaison to the program manager and the technical point of
contact to the customer. Support the program manager in risk and
opportunity management by identifying and owning risks associated
with system performance. Provides technical leadership, direction
and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of
systems engineering principles, tools, and techniques to achieve
practical end results. Develops advanced technological ideas and
guides their development into a final product that has a direct
impact on the Program and Operating Unit. ? Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Staff Electronics Engineer (T06): Must have a Bachelor’s degree
in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
discipline from an accredited university AND 14 years of related
professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s
degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12
years of related professional/military experience in Engineering;
or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 10 years of related professional/military
experience in Engineering. Must have the ability to obtain and
maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is
a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a
reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its
business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final
approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a
pre-requisite) Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program
Access (SAP/PAR) - needed to start. Experience in a technical
leadership and technical management roles – inclusive of technical
baseline management (including product support), leading and
ensuring major technical reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FRR),
safety of flight and airworthiness approval, and technical risk,
TPMs, and opportunity management. Experience integrating software
as a service (SAAS) Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF
spectrum (VHF through Ka bands) Knowledge of system engineering
design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down,
specification derivation and interface control documentation
Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical
and programmatic representatives Familiarity with leading large
technical proposals and the ability to lead the customer through
reviews of technical performance. Ability to Travel Occasionally
(6-8 trips/year). Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated technical
leadership skills, decisiveness, and ability to make sound
technical judgments with limited information. Strong collaboration
skills with experience working across industry partners and
customer community, with strong communication skills. Ability to
motivate and guide teams and activities without having formal
“ownership” of the staff supporting those activities. Experience
designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for
airborne platforms Demonstrated ability to assimilate new concepts
quickly and independently and work in a self-directed manner
Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or
Radar subsystems for airborne platforms Experience with RF antenna
and component design and performance analysis Experience in
model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
Experience with generating and managing requirements in DOORs
Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or
similar tools Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set
(Jira and Confluence) Experience with developing supplier
documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of
work Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and
experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results
and selection Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health
